Your guide to staying sharp, tactical, and connected in the AI era

Hey ,
This week, our Women in AI Report reminded us of the urgent need for women to claim leadership in AI conversations. At the same time, the headlines show both breakthroughs and blind spots—from Mira Murati’s new venture to unsettling examples of AI misuse. As the industry accelerates, our collective voice matters more than ever.
The best marketing ideas come from marketers who live it.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
The Marketing Millennials is a look inside what’s working right now for other marketers. No theory. No fluff. Just real insights and ideas you can actually use—from marketers who’ve been there, done that, and are sharing the playbook.
Every newsletter is written by Daniel Murray, a marketer obsessed with what goes into great marketing. Expect fresh takes, hot topics, and the kind of stuff you’ll want to steal for your next campaign.
Because marketing shouldn’t feel like guesswork. And you shouldn’t have to dig for the good stuff.
🌟 Big Idea of the Week
The Performance Paradox: Women Founders Outperform, But Are Underfunded
One of the starkest findings in our report is the persistent VC funding gap: women-only founding teams receive just ~2% of U.S. venture capital dollars, despite consistently outperforming male-led startups when they do get funded. In 2024, women-founded companies represented 24.3% of venture-backed exits—massive overperformance given the tiny share of capital they received.
Why it matters: The narrative that women-led companies are “riskier bets” doesn’t hold water. In reality, systemic bias is shutting investors out of one of the most profitable opportunities in AI and tech.
What you can do this week:
If you’re a founder, highlight these stats in your pitch deck to flip the script on investor assumptions.
If you’re in product or engineering, advocate internally for gender-diverse leadership on AI initiatives.
If you’re an ally or mentor, actively champion women-led ventures in your network.
Closing this gap isn’t just about fairness—it’s about building better companies, faster.
🛠 Tactical Tip
Prototype Fast with No-Code + AI
Instead of waiting for engineering resources, use no-code builders like Bubble or Webflow paired with AI copilots (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to spin up quick proofs of concept. A weekend prototype can spark a conversation that changes your roadmap.
💡 Spotlight: Women Pioneers in AI
Mira Murati – After leading OpenAI’s biggest product launches, Murati just raised $2B for her new multimodal AI startup, Thinking Machines Lab. Her leap reminds us that women can and should be at the forefront of defining AI’s next chapter.

💬 Closing Note
You don’t need to master AI overnight. You just need to take the next step, whether that’s automating a task, testing a prototype, or joining a conversation. Small, consistent actions compound into leadership.
Until next week, may your prompts be sharp ✨
