Tech Ladies Digest - Week of 4/6

ICON of the Week: Katherine Johnson's Bold Journey 🚀

Hey ,

As we count down to ICON, we’ve been celebrating the brilliant women who paved the way each week and this week’s ICON is none other than Katherine Johnson. A mathematician, trailblazer, and one of the "Hidden Figures" behind NASA’s early space missions, Katherine’s career reminds us that curiosity, precision, and perseverance can literally launch us into new worlds.

Johnson calculated the trajectories for the first American in space and played a critical role in the Apollo 11 moon landing doing so in a time when both her race and gender were significant barriers. She broke through by letting her work speak volumes and refusing to be sidelined. What can we learn from her? That deep expertise, quiet determination, and showing up, even when the system wasn’t built for you, can be revolutionary.

Katherine Johnson’s legacy teaches us to advocate for our place at the table, trust in our abilities, and know that even the most groundbreaking achievements start with solving one problem at a time. Her career is a shining example of the impact women in tech can and do make when given the opportunity to thrive.

We’ll be spotlighting even more icons like Katherine on our LinkedIn as we count down to ICON 2025.
